2. How important was / is your trans journey ?

3. What does trans Joy mean / feel to you ?

4. Do you think that it is important for us to challenge, and change aspects of masculinity that are problematic?

1. I chose my car because I consider it as my safe space. It has been there through loads of important experiences in my life and it is what I turn to when I need to clear my head. In regards to choosing nature, being around it relaxes me. I love to chill in spots with breathtaking views, away from everything and anything.

2. My trans journey is the best thing I’ve ever gone through. It has been hard yes, undoutably. However, the reward of finally being yourself is so much greater. In terms of others around me, I feel that it has been important too, if not even more, because some of my friends had a different idea/perspective about trans people, until we got to know each other and they wanted to educate themselves. So just by being myself, a few other humans in the world understand and accept trans people.

3. For me the meaning of trans joy means different things. For example, From when I woke up from my top surgery, looking at the mirror I had this exciting and intense feeling of happiness, like finally seeing myself and recognising myself after all those hardships. That is transjoy. However, transjoy for me also means being proud of being trans. And we should be, it takes a lot of courage to go through what we go through to get what we want.

4. I believe so yes, Time has gone by, humans and everything around us has evolved and changed, yet we still try to fit everyone in this little box.

5. For me masculinity is one of these boxes that society has created and for some reason everyone thinks/believes that each and every one of us should fit in those boxes accordingly. Men ‘have’ to be tough and assertive.. and the fact that men should not express emotion. Men are humans too, just like women.
