Here are my replies, a million moons late ❤️
1. How do you identify your gender and sexuality to yourself or to other people?
I identify as a gay woman.
2. Do you think that it is important for us to challenge, and change aspects of masculinity that are problematic?
I believe we need to challenge anything that is problematic while also taking the time to listen and educate. While there is no excuse for intolerance, hurt, hate or violence, many aspects of human behavior are the result of generations and decades of socially accepted behaviors that require a lot of undoing, and the journey is far from over.
3. What does masculinity mean to you?
I find that hard to answer, as everybody is so unique whether male, female or non-binary. So perhaps it may simply be physiognomy or physical form and I believe everybody should embody an aesthetic that inspires comfort in your own skin. I always find myself looking at men’s motorcycle gear rather than women’s as it just seems to look better and not pink! I’m totally not into the image typically associated with women and motorcycles. However, that has thankfully also been greatly challenged by upcoming brands and movements in the past decade or so.
